What does a National Account Manager do?

The National Account Manager is a professional figure who works in close contact with the Sales Director and is responsible for achieving sales targets on the reference distribution channels in the national territory.

Specifically, he/she is responsible for

Negotiating and managing commercial agreements with the main brands of the reference channels in line with company directives – 1st and 2nd level negotiations;
Creating a sales strategy to achieve shared sales and margin targets;
Developing initiatives and researching commercial opportunities aimed at business development and the acquisition of new customers;
Defining sales forecasts in collaboration with the commercial management;
Defining promotional plans;
Collaborating with Marketing on the construction of trade plans;
liaising with the relevant functions for the management and verification of orders.

You normally have a technical/commercial educational background: a degree in economics and business or a commercial diploma.

Required:

Proven experience in the role
You must come from a company operating in the food, finance and other sectors;
Ability to negotiate and commercial approach;
Excellent knowledge of the commercial dynamics of the reference sector;
Excellent organisational, operational and planning skills;
Decision-making, analytical and problem-solving skills;
Excellent commercial and interpersonal skills
Excellent ability to interact with different interlocutors
Willingness to travel frequently throughout Italy
Professionals with a strong ability to adapt and proactivity, leadership skills, excellent skills and ability to negotiate and present products to customers, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and therefore able to interface with all company figures at different levels, are preferred when hunting down profiles.
