Dark Arts Rye Blunt Blend Madeira/ArmagnacDark Arts Bourbon " the Empyrean  #2 " 111.5 proof 750ml

They were never meant to meet, two distinct forces shaped in separate casks. Yet under careful hands, contrast becomes harmony. The Empyrean Vol. 2 is a straight bourbon whiskey finished in both red port and white port wine casks, each matured along its own path before being brought together with quiet precision. One offers brightness, lifted fruit, and a graceful floral edge. The other moves darker, layered with depth and richness. Together, they linger, balanced, evolving, and impossible to divide.

Crafted by Dark Arts Whiskey House, the brainchild of Macaulay Minton, formerly of Wilderness Trail's acclaimed single barrel program, this Lexington, Kentucky operation specializes in the art of blending, rebarreling, and finishing whiskey without coloring, flavoring, or chill filtration.

Tasting Notes

Nose: Bright and expressive, opening with orchard blossoms and fresh-cut fruit, giving way to raspberry thumbprint cookies and warm shortbread. Soft pastry sweetness and florals linger beneath the surface.
Palate: Waves of ripe red fruit and honeyed jam preserves arrive first, layered over baking spice and subtle oak. Richly textured and quietly decadent, it unfolds like dessert by candlelight.
Finish: Long, creamy, and warming, with soft florals, dried fruit, and a final whisper of spice.

A limited special release. Best enjoyed neat or with a few drops of water to open the full bouquet.
