Antica Torino's Dry was inspired by a rediscovered 1950s recipe titled simply "extract for dry vermouth," dating from the era when aromatized wine was the beating heart of Turin's economy. Founders Vittorio Zoppi and Filippo Antonelli revived not just the recipe but the old Torinese technique behind it: each botanical macerates separately in high-proof alcohol for around 30 days, then part of the maceration is redistilled — a step most modern producers skip — before blending with the wine and resting in steel for 45-60 days. The botanicals balance mountain and garden herbs: wormwood, muscat yarrow, sage, thistle, hyssop, centaurea, cinnamon, coriander, and grapefruit peel, over a base of Piedmontese Cortese DOC white wine. Bottled at 18% ABV with just 3.3% sugar — genuinely dry. Expect a straw-yellow pour with an intense, complex nose of flowers, sage, citrus, and mineral notes, opening into a dry, soft, warm palate of cinnamon, fresh flowers, sage, and almond, with a long, balanced finish.
