Torabhaig Legacy Series Chapter 4 Sound of Sleat Batch Strength Single Malt Scotch Whisky 750ml

tand at the water's edge. Let the storm roll in.

The Sound of Sleat is the narrow strip of sea that separates the Isle of Skye from the Scottish mainland — wild, powerful, uncompromising. It's the perfect name for Torabhaig's boldest release yet. The fourth chapter of the Legacy Series, now bottled straight from the cask at 60.2% ABV, with nothing added and nothing held back.

The Whisky

Same whisky as the core Sound of Sleat release — but at full batch strength, everything is amplified. Crafted from Concerto and Laureate malted barley peated to 78+ PPM, fermented over 72 hours, and matured exclusively in American oak — a combination of first-fill bourbon, refill bourbon, and freshly toasted virgin oak casks. The result is Torabhaig's signature "Smoke with Taste" philosophy dialed all the way up: deeper coastal smoke, richer spice, a waxy mouthfeel that coats every corner of the palate. No chill filtration. No added color. Fifteen thousand bottles, worldwide.

Tasting Notes

  • Nose: Balanced blast of smoke and brine, sweet oak spice, fragrant tobacco, orange barley sugar, apricot, seaweed, and ashy peat
  • Palate: Zesty oak spice, bonfire embers, waxy mouthfeel, sweet vanilla, white pepper, and a hint of oriental smoke
  • Finish: Long and elegant — capsicum heat, coastal salinity, and a fiery spirit kick that leaves no doubt of its island origins
