Speyside Single Malt Scotch Whisky | 50% ABV (100 Proof) | 750 mL
This 17-year expression inaugurates GlenAllachie’s Masters of Wood series. Initially aged in American ex-bourbon barrels, it’s then finished in rare Japanese Mizunara oak and Oloroso sherry casks. Master Distiller Billy Walker blends the resulting whiskies to deliver a whisky that fuses Japanese spice and sandalwood with rich sherry sweetness—all bottled uncolored and non-chill-filtered.
Nose: Heather honey, crystalized ginger, cocoa, toasted tobacco, orange peel
Palate: Baking spices, blood orange, grilled honeycomb, fig syrup, pecans, demerara sugar
Finish: Long and indulgent with nutty, spicy oak and lingering dark fruit
First release in the Masters of Wood high-end wood series
Finished in rare Mizunara oak, prized for sandalwood and spice
Complemented by maturation in Oloroso sherry puncheons/hogsheads
