WINERY NOTES:

OVERVIEW: “Our 2024 Skin-Contact Falanghina comes from Lost Slough Vineyard, where organic farming and a unique microclimate bring this rare Italian varietal to life in California. Fermented on its skins, this wine shows both the aromatic lift of Falanghina and the texture that makes skin-contact whites so distinctive. Whether you call it skin-contact Falanghina or an orange wine, it’s a small-production release that reflects both old-world tradition and the innovative spirit of Terah Wine Co.”

TASTING: “Golden-hued and full of energy, this wine offers layers of citrus peel, apricot, and wild herbs, framed by a tactile grip that invites food pairing. Crisp notes of freshly picked green apples and vibrant citrus peel intertwine with more intricate layers of brioche, dried apricots, and honeyed figs. Chewy tannins with long-lasting minerality.”

VINEYARD: Situated in the heart of the Clarksburg AVA, this growing region benefits from the unique terroir that characterizes this area. The cool breezes that flow from the Sacramento River Delta, combined with the rich sandy, clay loam soils, create an environment that is optimal for producing exceptional wine grapes. The maritime influence tempers the region's warm days, allowing for slow and even ripening, which preserves acids resulting in wines with incredible freshness. The proximity to the river, combined with the well-drained sandy clay loam soils, and organic farming practices all contribute to the distinctive character of the grapes, resulting in wines that showcase both elegance and focus."
