Tap 8 Rye Sherry Finished Canadian Rye Whisky (750ml)

The Tap Whisky Finished Collection currently includes Tap 357 Canadian Maple Rye Whisky and Tap Port Finished Canadian Rye Whisky. As with the first two marques, Tap Rye Sherry Finished 8 Year Old is handcrafted in small batches at the oldest distillery in Western Canada and finished in small quantities in Quebec by Master Blender Michel Marcel.

The Amontillado Sherry used in Tap Rye Sherry Finished comes from the Jerez region in Spain where the finest Sherries are produced. Sherry is the latest trend that is riding high in the spirits world – and the combination of the aged Canadian rye paired with Spanish sherry is the perfect marriage of decadent and delicate.

The whisky is distilled multiple times in small batches using a pot still and continuous distillation from a reserve blend before it is placed in casks to age for eight years. Once the whisky has come of age, the rye is expertly finished by Marcel with a small amount of Amontillado Sherry and placed in charred white oak bourbon barrels from North America. A resting period of no less than 60 days then commences to ensure the aged rye and sherry are well integrated before the spirit is bottled in elegant Bruni glass and cork-finished. 

"Tapping" reserves of 8-year Canadian rye, combined the whisky with a touch of Amontillado sherry to add notes of dried fruit and sweetness to the finished product. Aromatic and rich, this is a pleasant sipping whisky for low-light wood bars and alongside fireplaces.
