Scarlet Peach Amaro Bitters Liqeur 700ml Japanese Craft Bitter Iseya Distillery

Scarlet Peach Amaro begins not in a distillery, but in the orchards of Yamanashi Prefecture Japan's most celebrated peach-growing region. Founder Tatsuya "Moto" Motonaga gathered 100 volunteers to hand-peel and press three prized Japanese peach varieties: Hakuhō, Natsukko, and Akatsuki, sourced from YJ Peach Farm. Over 4,500kg of fresh fruit was processed entirely by hand, with the pure juice used directly as the base of this amaro no water added, no shortcuts taken.

The result is something unlike any other bitter liqueur in the world. Where most amari lean on roots and bark for their body, Scarlet Peach leads with the natural sweetness and floral brightness of sun-ripened Japanese peaches, then layers in 27 carefully selected botanicals to deliver the complex bitterness and herbal depth that defines the Scarlet house style. Every botanical is farmed pesticide-free on Iseya Distillery's own plot in Kanagawa, harvested at peak season, and macerated individually before blending.

This is a labor of love bottled, labeled, and wax-sealed by hand, just like every expression Moto san produces.

Tasting Notes

  • Nose: Bright, juicy peach with soft white florals and a whisper of herb
  • Palate: Fresh fruit sweetness up front, giving way to layered botanical complexity — earthy, lightly spiced, gently bitter
  • Finish: Clean and long, with lingering stone fruit and a dry herbal close
