Jeb Dunnuck

Displaying a garnet red color, the 2023 Rosso Di Montalcino is ripe on the nose with a musky cologne of baked cherries, leather, crushed flowers, and mossy earth. The palate leans toward full-bodied, with ripe tannins and an earth-noted feel, although it retains good freshness and ripeness of fruit through the finish. This is a more structured Rosso to drink over the coming 4-5 years.

James Suckling

Spicy and focused, with aromas of licorice, smoke, graphite, dried cherries and dried flowers. The tannins are quite austere, chalky and biting, with a light to medium body and refreshing acidity. From organically grown grapes. Drink or hold.

Tasting Notes

Rosso di Montalcino is an enveloping, expressive wine made for any convivial moment. Its intense rub-red color and explosive aromatics reveal ripe red fruit and fresh rose notes.  On the palate, it is full-bodied with soft, silky tannins and a lively, balanced character shaped by aging in large barrels. Smooth yet vibrant, it finishes long and persistent, lifted by refreshing acidity. Equally at home with simple or elaborate dishes, it shines both in its youthful energy and with a bit of age.

This wine is produced from 100% Sangiovese Grosso grapes grown on vines grown in rocky soils northeast of Montalcino.

Winery Notes

Winemakers for generations. The Terzuoli family has been producing wine since the 17th century, passing down their knowledge and experience.

The family has always personally managed the grape production, vinification, and wine aging to ensure the highest quality in every bottle.

Looking to the future without ever forgetting the past. Technological innovation and respect for tradition are the secrets to producing quality wines.
