Overview: The origins of this grape are uncertain. Some believe that it arrived in Trentino from the Veronese area (Lake Garda area) where it was known as Tirodola, from the system of implantation with braces called tirelle. DNA analysis revealed that together with the Schiava Gentile he is a relative of Lagrein and Marzemino and a cousin of Dureza who is a relative of Syrah.
Tasting Notes: Intense ruby red. Intense, fruity boquet accompanied by hints of red fruit and small black fruits. Very pleasant finish.
Pairing: Thanks to its personality, it lends itself well to red meat dishes, roasts, and medium and long-aged cheeses.
