The first trace of rum distillation dates back to 1651 in Barbados. More than four centuries later Plantation strives to perfect the long-held traditions of the process. The goal is to grasp every clue about the rum-making culture.
Coming from the South Pacific Distillery in the Fiji Islands, this unique expression, an alliance of both pot and column stills, was distilled in 2011.
Plantation Single Cask rums are limited releases of double-aged Haute Couture rums, first aged in bourbon barrels in the tropics, then further matured in French oak Ferrand casks in the southwest of France. While all Plantation rums are double aged, this Single Cask rum benefits from an additional dynamic ageing process in carefully selected LINIE, aquavit casks sent on an almost fives months journey across the oceans. From Oslo to Singapore and back, the rum sails across 17 time zones and through shifting weather conditions over the constantly rolling waves.
