Sweet mash, barrel proof, never chill filtered. One barrel, hand-selected by us — and this one drinks like cherry soda.
Nose: Bright maraschino cherry and cola spice over vanilla bean, with orange peel and toasted brown sugar behind it.
Palate: Cherry syrup up front — sweet, almost effervescent — then caramel, graham cracker and a soft clove warmth. Remarkably easy at 113.2.
Finish: Brown sugar and red fruit lingering into gentle oak spice.
Next to Henry Kraver's Old Reserve 10 Year: Nearly identical in the glass — the same deep amber pour. The 10 Year is the smoother, rounder of the two, leaning into pipe tobacco, mocha and aged-oak richness. Ours goes the other direction: bright, fruit-forward, unmistakably cherry. Same sweet mash DNA, two very different personalities.
