Hayden, grandson of Basil Hayden honored this family legacy by naming his whiskey and his distillery "Old Grand-Dad" in 1882 creating a bold, spicy bourbon that has stood the test of time. In 2025, James B. Beam Distilling Co. proudly introduces the first annual release of Old Grand-Dad 7-Year Bonded Bourbon. This high-rye Kentucky Straight Bourbon is produced from a single distillation season and bottled at 100 proof, in accordance with the Bottled-in-Bond Act of 1897. The inaugural release, barreled in Spring 2018, is patiently aged to deepen the signature OGD flavor--sweet caramel layered with charred oak, vanilla, and a full-bodied, velvety finish. A nod to its vintage roots, the 7-Year Bottled-in-Bond expression celebrates the legacy of a bourbon that survived Prohibition, became a giant of the industry, and beloved by bartenders and bourbon aficionados alike.
