Oban Little Bay is an expression from one of Scotland's most distinctive distilleries — produced at Oban on the Western Highland coast, matured in a combination of small European and American oak casks that accelerate cask interaction and produce a more accessible, sweeter expression than the classic Oban 14 Year.

The small-cask format — similar in principle to Laphroaig's Quarter Cask — increases the wood-to-spirit surface ratio, drawing out vanilla, toffee, and baking spice faster than standard barrel sizes. At Oban, this retains the distillery's signature sea salt and coastal character while developing a richer sweetness and Christmas-cake spice profile. A Western Highland single malt with genuine complexity. Browse the full Oban collection at Wooden Cork.

Frequently Asked Questions

How does Oban Little Bay compare to Oban 14 Year?

The 14 Year is coastal and slightly smoky with dried fruit and heather. Little Bay uses small casks for faster maturation, producing a sweeter, more vanilla-forward profile with prominent baking spice. The 14-year has more depth; Little Bay is more approachable.
