OVERVIEW:

Next barrel up, we dove into the toasted rye barrels that were staring at us the entire time we were picking the bourbon.  Toasted products hold a special place in our hearts.  In most cases, it takes you back to sitting by a campfire.  This one is no different. We immediately got a taste of toasted marshmallows, but everyone wants to put some sort of iteration of the marshmallow man on the bottle. We aren’t going to do that, so we will call it Get Out! 

TASTING NOTES:

• Nose: Sometimes we wonder what a finished whiskey tasted like before it got all done up.  We have an inclination that this one may have had some pine on it.  The extra time in the toasted barrel was able to hide all of that.  Now it noses like a toasted marshmallow over a pine campfire.
• Taste: Your mouth is now full of a toasted, sweet, marshmallow, spice bomb.  This barrel still had a couple of months in the toasted barrel so we expect even more sweetness to come out!
• Finish: That sweet and spice continues to a long, returning finish. Have you ever heard of the phrase “I’ll hitcha back later!”? That’s what this is. A southern phrase meaning I can’t wait to see you soon to talk more.
