The 2018 Loudenne Le Chateau was on our dinner table recently, and it is at the perfect point in it's maturation- still well structured and elegant, but absolutely erupting with fruit!
Chateau Loudenne is a storied house in Medoc perched directly on the banks of the Gironde River that divides Bordeaux into the "Left Bank/Right Bank" distinction that we know and love. The winery is zealously dedicated to conservation and sustainable farming, and the attention to detail shows in the wine!
Divided evenly between Cabernet and Merlot, this beauty offers a creamy texture of subtle oak with soft, well balanced tannins. The nose is light and fresh with hints of strawberry and spice, leading to a rich burst of forest berries and espresso.
The wine paired well with an assortment of cheeses and grilled sourdough bread, but we think this well-priced winner would shine in just about any role!
