Lepanto Oloroso Viejo Solera Gran Reserva Brandy De Jerez

Distillation:
Lepanto stands alone as the only Brandy de Jerez crafted entirely in Jerez using the Palomino grape. Utilizing only the finest Palomino musts, specifically the 'mostoyema', which are the initial extracts from the cutting-edge Wilmes presses. A meticulous double distillation ensues in twin Charentais pot stills situated within the Los Arcos cellar of González Byass in Jerez. In a unique twist, this makes it the sole brandy distilled directly in Jerez. Luis Trillo, our adept master distiller, opts for the heart of the distilled spirit, sidelining the heads and tails. This heart, known as "Holanda," emanates purest quality. The distinct Palomino grape imparts fragrant spirits, blooming with vinous notes and shades of pear, pineapple, and banana, owing to a diligent fermentation process.

Aging:
The "Holanda" from Lepanto is aged in 600-liter American oak casks, which have been preciously seasoned with sherry. This follows Jerez's distinguished Solera system. Specifically for Lepanto OV (Oloroso Viejo), the spirit finds itself maturing for 12 years in barrels that previously housed Tio Pepe. This is followed by an additional 3 years in casks seasoned with aged dry Olorosos. Cumulatively, the brandy matures over an impressive average of 15 years, earning its title as a Solera Gran Reserva.

Master Blender's Notes:
The culmination of 15 years in select casks and the duality of aging in both Tio Pepe and dry Oloroso barrels births a brandy that's profoundly complex yet gracefully poised. Lepanto OV radiates with an intense amber hue, accentuated by dark copper gleams. The nose is welcomed by intricate and pristine fragrances, resonating with undertones of nuts, spices, and seasoned wood. Upon tasting, its intensity shines through, deeply dry but with an underpinning elegance and silkiness.
