About the product: The base of this single barrel is a small batch blend created by sourcing variety of aged Rye from different distilleries in Kentucky and Indiana. Then this small batch blend was filled into a fresh emptied Pineau Des Charentes Rouge cask from France for just under 3 additional months of secondary aging at BBC.

About K.LUKE Whiskey Company: K.LUKE Whiskey Company owner and master blender Jonathan Maisano made his first single barrel trip to Kentucky in the summer of 2014.  Since then, he has tasted over 1,600 barrels and selected more than 400 to be deemed as Maisano Hand Select Single Barrels for retail.  Jonathan is also a first level certified Sommelier through the Court of Master Sommeliers.  He uses this extensive sensory training when evaluating aroma and flavor profiles in whiskey barrels as there are many similar traits in both wine and whiskey when searching for nuances. In 2024 Jonathan was named the Blender of the Year from the Barleycorn Awards.

What is Pineau Des Charentes Rouge: A fortified aperitif wine from western France, made from either fresh, unfermented grape juice or a blend of lightly fermented grape must from the Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Merlot grapes, to which a Cognac eau-de-vie is added and then matured.

Tasting Notes: On the nose there is beautiful red apple, floral and raspberry spice notes with flavors of elegant baked raspberry spice cake with hints of rose water and a round balanced finish.
