Named after the famously dark, peaty loch overlooked by the distillery, the Loch Gorm 2026 Edition was matured in oloroso sherry butts for a minimum of 10 years. The sherry-soaked casks from Bodega José y Miguel Martín add layers of rich spices, dark chocolate and dried fruit character, which balance beautifully with Kilchoman’s peat smoke and citrus flavours.
The cask make-up for this expression were 20 first-fill and 3 second-fill Oloroso Sherry casks.
Producer's Tasting Notes
Nose: Peat smoke dominates before giving way to a hefty malt aroma, dried red fruits, and roasted nuts.
Palate: Full-on fruitiness initially greets the palate with orange marmalade, barbecued pineapple slices, rich milk chocolate and salted caramel.
Finish: Lingering finish with savoury undertones, dark chocolate, burnt sugar topping and a smoky, earthy influence.
