Bold and peaty Glenturret single malt release by Scotch Malt Whisky Society. This ‘A Tour Of The Mad Hatter’s Hipflask’ was distilled on the 13th of March 2013 then aged initially in an American oak ex-Oloroso butt for 8 years before a final maturation in a second fill ex-Oloroso butt.
Bottled at (100 British proof) 57.1% abv this big, characterful whisky offers flavours of sweet peat smoke, brisket burnt ends, coal scuttle and pickled brambles. A fantastic whisky for lovers of extremely peaty, spicy and ‘bonkers’ expressions.
