An impressively ripe, full and velvety red that offers quiet power through deep, dark fruit and oak-spice flavors gently framed by soft, blanketing tannins. Lush, mouth-filling and luxurious, with cocoa-dusted black cherries, black licorice, star anise and vanilla bean on the palate. Drink now or hold

Winemaker Notes

Seductive aromas of black cherry, blackberry compote, and plum sauce lure you in as you take the first sip. The wine is seamless from start to finish and fills out the palate with dark fruit continuing as the framework yet the harmonious layers of mocha and cassis along with hints of sage and tobacco leaf are what make the wine alluring and irresistible.

Winery Notes

The Ghost Block Vineyard is one of our most unique and sought-after sites. Resting against a gentle slope of Yountville Hill, a mountaintop that once towered above the Stags Leap District in the Vaca Mountains. Approximately eight million years ago, a seismic event caused a section of the Vacas to tumble, shifting a peak to the west. This repositioned peak, now known as Yountville Hill, lies on its side, unveiling distinctive vertical exposure of tertiary volcanic formations. Positioned facing East, it basks in the mid-morning and afternoon sunlight, while benefiting from cooling effects in the evening and early morning fog, influenced by the marine air from San Pablo Bay. The wine showcases the complexity of the site’s rich geological history, enhanced by our continuous organic farming practices.
