For her signature white varietal, Gina chose Laguna Ranch Vineyard in the Russian River Valley, both because of its terroir and the special significance it holds for her. When Laguna Ranch was an apple orchard, Ginas grandfather Julio often picked fresh apples there for his wifes legendary apple pies. He later purchased the property and transformed it into a Chardonnay vineyard. Gina relished the opportunity to share this special place through a very personal Chardonnay that reveals a subtle hint of apple on the palate. Grapes from our Del Rio Vineyard add a pleasing acidity to balance the richness in the wine. On the Palate Our 2010 Gallo Signature Series Chardonnay mingles aromas of sweet vanilla cream and rustic, nutty baked bread with fruit flavors of pear, lemon meringue and ginger that are uniquely expressive of the Russian River Valley.
