The agave used for this lot of Fuenteseca Cosecha 2020 Huerta Singular Blanco Tequila was cultivated to full maturity in Enrique Fonseca’s orchards in La Tuna de Arriba, within the municipality of San Ignacio, just north of Arandas in the highlands of Jalisco. Sitting on a 5,000-foot plateau, this elevated site produces agaves with a distinct ripeness and concentration, shaped by mineral-rich soils, cooler nights, and the slow rhythm of highland maturation.

The 2020 harvest yielded a fruit-forward character, showing a richer and more generous profile reminiscent of the celebrated 2013 release, while retaining the petrichor-driven minerality and structural precision found in the 2018 expression. Rather than immediate bottling, this tequila was allowed to rest in stainless steel for five full years, a deliberate decision that preserves purity while allowing the spirit to settle, integrate, and gain remarkable textural elegance without the influence of oak. On the palate, it reveals ripe cooked agave, soft orchard fruit, fresh citrus, and a distinct mineral backbone, carried by a supple mouthfeel and a long, composed finish. Bottled at 45.7% ABV, this additive-free tequila reflects Enrique Fonseca’s patient and disciplined approach to blanco tequila—quietly complex, deeply expressive, and a serious contender for one of the finest blancos of the vintage.
