Flor del Desierto Sotol Desierto is an artisanal sotol from Gerardo Ruelas Hernandez in Chihuahua, Mexico — distilled from the wild Dasylirion plant in the high-desert terrain that gives the spirit its name. Sotol is the agave-adjacent spirit category with its own protected denomination of origin in northern Mexico (Chihuahua, Sonora, Durango).
The Desierto expression represents the wild, drier desert ecosystem of Chihuahua — where Dasylirion plants mature slowly across the rocky high-desert landscape, producing a more mineral, drier sotol character.
