Failla is one of the Sonoma Coast’s most respected producers, founded by Ehren Jordan with a singular focus on cool-climate, site-expressive wines. Their Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir is a blend of 60% estate-grown fruit from the Olivet Ranch vineyard in the Russian River Valley and 40% from Failla’s other single-vineyard sources — a wine that captures the coastal character of the appellation with honesty and precision.

The 2023 is elegant and expressive — cinnamon, earth, red cherries, raspberries, and cracked black pepper on the nose, with a suave, mulled edge of damson plum and blood orange. The palate is fresh and juicy, with tart red fruit, a savory salinity, and lingering echoes of sandalwood, rose hip, and sous-bois. Light-bodied and focused, with the kind of coastal character that makes Sonoma Coast Pinot so compelling.

“Cinnamon, earth, red cherries, raspberries and cracked black pepper on the nose. The palate is fresh and juicy, with tart red fruit and salty flavors… An honest, expressive, light-bodied example of a Sonoma Coast pinot.”
James Suckling, 93 Points. (Vintage 2023).

“This suave Pinot has a mulled edge to its raspberry, damson plum and blood orange notes, sparkling with savory and rose hip details. Ends with light-handed echoes of sandalwood and sous-bois.”
Wine Spectator, 93 Points. (Vintage 2023).

Pairs with: Roast duck, salmon, mushroom risotto, charcuterie, or soft-ripened cheeses.
