Enrico Toro Distilleria Casauria Amaro 72 is an Italian amaro from the Casauria distillery in Tocco da Casauria, Abruzzo — a town in central Italy with a herbal elixir tradition tracing back to the Benedictine Friars of San Clemente at Casauria Abbey. Beniamino Toro Sr. discovered the local elixir, and the family commercialized it as Centerba Toro in 1817, gaining fame for its restorative properties during the cholera epidemic in Naples. Amaro 72 features powerful fresh herbs and clove on the entry, a round mid-palate of cooked spice sweetness, and a fresh mint finish.

The Amaro 72 is made from wild and cultivated herbs hand-picked from the slopes of the Miella in the Abruzzese Mountains. The high-altitude botanical sourcing combined with the producer’s 200-year continuous distilling history places this in the upper end of authentic regional Italian amari. Works neat as a digestif, over ice, or as a cocktail component.
