Description: This limited-edition aged Demerara rum, produced by Demerara Distillers Limited at Guyana’s last remaining distillery, is a sophisticated blend of rums distilled from molasses using heritage stills: Enmore wooden Coffey (EHP), Port Mourant wooden vat (PM), Versailles wooden vat (REV), and Diamond Coffey (SVW). The rum is aged for 18 years—15 years in ex-bourbon casks and an additional 3 years in VS Cognac-seasoned French oak casks. The result is a complex flavor profile with aromas of rum raisin ice cream, burnt cinnamon, and bread pudding, transitioning to a palate of fresh green curry and Makrut lime leaf, and finishing with a long, spicy note of clove and cinnamon. With an ABV of 40%, this release, which builds on El Dorado’s Special Reserve 15 Year Rum, presents a unique blend of baking spices, sharp herbs, and citrus.
