At 17 years in new charred American oak through Kentucky's extreme seasonal cycling, the 2018 release develops the fragrant, almost wine-like aromatic complexity that distinguishes the 17 Year from standard Eagle Rare 10 Year — almond, cigar boxes, and cinnamon on the nose leading into a delicate and dry mid-palate of leather, vanilla, and tobacco before a long leathery and toffee finish.
