ABOUT THE VINEYARD: “Les Bouchères is a respected if lesser-known Premier Cru vineyard in Meursault. It is located on the midslope of the Côte d'Or escarpment just south of the village itself and, like much of the rest of the commune, is planted to Chardonnay. The 4.4 hectare (11 acre) climat is found roughly in the center of the commune, with Meursault's famous Perrieres and Charmes vineyards just over 500m (0.3 miles) to the south. The vines in Les Bouchères have an excellent exposure to morning sunlight, planted (as they are) on a gentle, east-facing slope. While the vineyard is best oriented to the morning sunlight, Les Bouchères is an earlier-ripening site. The high quality of Les Bouchères wines - not least due to some of the well-regarded names that own plots here - coupled with its relative obscurity, means that it can offer good value for Meursault fans.” - WINE-SEARCHER.COM

ABOUT THE PRODUCER: "Domaine Dujardin is a family story shared between different generations. Located in the heart of the Côte de Beaune coast, in Monthelie (21 Côte d’Or, Burgundy). The estate has an area of 8 hectares of vines mainly in the Monthelie, Meursault and Auxey-Duresses appellations. Catherine and Ulrich are today joined by their children Margaux and Paul. The complementarity between generations allows the Domaine to evolve into a new style of wine.

We decided to devote ourselves mainly to working in the vineyard with attention and affection. Our soils are worked with a plow, without the use of weedkillers. This upstream choice allows us to work in the vat room with quality grapes. Which is for us our main obsession today. Our winemaking is traditional, the wines are aged between 12 and 18 months in French oak barrels. We produce our wines with emphasis on our different localities, to achieve a fine and precise style.” - DOMAINE DUJARDIN
