Duckhorn's 2023 Oakville Cabernet Sauvignon is the product of one of Napa Valley's most unique and rewarding vintages in decades. Heavy winter and spring rains delayed budbreak, while cooler temperatures throughout the season provided extended hangtime and exceptional flavor development. Harvest concluded on November 9th with Cabernet Sauvignon from Oak Knoll and Howell Mountain, yielding wines that are pure, supple, and balanced with vibrant acidity and intense color.
Deep and expressive on the nose, the wine showcases aromas of black cherry compote, dried thyme, fig, and blackberry crumble with a subtly rustic edge. The palate is dense but controlled, layering plum and cardamom jam over firm, finely shaped tannins, with a savory thread carrying through the finish — lending an old-world nuance to the wine's bold, focused character.
