A stunning, hand-crafted premier cru Chablis from this wonderful family estate. This is classic Chablis: precise, pure, and driven. Velvety citrus fruit gives way to textbook chalk, slate, and stone. Elegant, fresh, and mineral, this deep-flavored wine has intense aromas of citrus with some hints of peach.
Winery Estate Notes
This 45 acre estate is situated in the heart of the city of Chablis and includes four appellations: Chablis AOC , Chablis Mont de Milieu 1er Cru, Chablis Montmains 1er Cru, and Chablis Vaillons 1er Cru. The family-owned and managed Domaine Race is today in the capable hands of fourth-generation Claire Race, winemaker and daughter of Denis and Laurence Race.
The farming is essentially organic (lutte raisonée), and the vines are well-situated and range in age up to 83 years. The fruit is picked at optimum ripeness and, purity being the principal objective, wood is never involved: the wine is fermented and aged in stainless steel.
