2016 is the vintage of deep red wines. The Brunello Prime Donne by Donatella Cinelli Colombini expresses her philosophy of returning to the origins of the denominations!
At the moment of the harvest the ripening was perfect both in the skins and in the grape pulp.
Sangiovese grapes able to produce long lasting, deep and complex wines. Wines of great elegance, with silky tannins and great harmony. Wines similar to those that Donatella learnt to love as a young woman with her grandfather Giovanni Colombini and that in fact have been vinified like long ago: in small unlined concrete vats, using autochthonous yeasts and with the punching down of the skins.
Brunello Prime Donne is the symbol of the first Italian winery with an all female staff, Casato Prime Donne in the North West region of Montalcino.
