Antica Erboristeria Cappelletti was founded in 1909 in the historic Piazza Fiera in the center of Trento — a firm rooted from the very beginning in the tradition of herbs, roots, and flowers of the Alpine foothills. Today, four generations later, Luigi and Maddalena Cappelletti continue all production in-house from their home in Aldeno, 20 km south of Trento, surrounded by vineyards and apple orchards. Alta Verde is their traditional wormwood amaro: a style that was once common throughout the Adriatic but has become increasingly rare over the last half century. This is the real thing — uncompromising, botanical, and built for those who take their bitters seriously.

The principal ingredient is assenzio — a variety of wormwood — framed and lightened by a complementary blend of alpine herbs, citrus, and spice. The result is a deeply bitter, aromatic amaro with a drying finish and genuine complexity. Best enjoyed with citrus and tonic or soda, over ice with a big squeeze of lemon, or in cocktails where Alta Verde adds depth and a drying effect to balance sweeter drinks.
