96pts Owen Bargreen

The 2021 ‘Cygnus Block’ comes from this southeast facing edge in the Brittan Estate Vineyard that was planted in 2008 to Swan selection. Once on the nose this exudes class with white pepper dusted huckleberry, marionberry, peat moss and suggestions of wet stone. The palate is soft and refined throughout the drinking experience. Showing no rough edges with a brilliant core of black fruits and stony minerals, this is a downright classy Pinot Noir that has a long life ahead of it. Enjoy this medium to full-bodied beauty now and over the next fifteen plus years. Drink 2024-2040

95pts Decanter

Comprised of Swan clone Pinot Noir planted in a three-acre block, facing the eastern morning sun with low yielding vines. Gorgeous and elegant aromatics of red fruits and dried lavender with notes of lilac and wild rose. The palate soars with wild red berries and a rustic spice blend that melds perfectly with this wine’s elegance. Savoury wild alpine herbs and sea salt mingle with a fresh mint finish. Drinking Window: 2025 – 2038

93pts Wine Enthusiast

The wine’s aromatics channel Doc Holliday whispering, “I’m your huckleberry.” Huckleberries dominate this aromatic set, joined by vanilla and holster leather. Tart blueberries meet sweet Sungold tomatoes on the palate, along with an earthy blackberry-tea flavor. Great acidity here, with velvety tannins.

93pts International Wine Report

Aged for 10 months in 26% new French oak, the 2021 ‘Cygnus Block’ Pinot Noir shines with a neon ruby red core and a delicate light pink rim. Aromas of mountain huckleberries, rhubarb compote, and sweet spices are layered with earthy undertones, creating a complex nose. On the palate, the crunchy tannins and moderate-plus acidity add structure and energy, leading to a lingering, captivating finish. 128 cases produced. Better in 2025. 2025-2033

92pts Vinous

Chalk dust, lavender and exotic spices accentuate crushed blackberries as the 2021 Pinot Noir Cygnus Block blossoms in the glass. A wave of liquid florals coats the palate as tart wild berry fruits and hints of sour citrus add cheek-puckering tension throughout. It’s staining, long and mouthwatering, leaving a saturation of grippy tannins as residual acidity enlivens the finale. Drinking Window: 2026 – 2032
