Branch Point TRIT Straight Whiskey is made from an original mash bill of locally grown triticale along with rye malt and distillers malt. Triticale is a natural, non-GMO rye-wheat hybrid developed in the late 1800s in Scotland that combines the spice and complexity of rye with the approachability of wheat. We use a rye/bourbon yeast and ferment in open topped washbacks before a double distillation in traditional copper pot stills. The whiskey is matured in new charred American oak casks. To retain maximum flavor and mouthfeel the whiskey is non-chill filtered and we never use coloring or other additives.
