Cask strength. Uncut. Small batch. Booker's Off Your Rocker — a named batch from Jim Beam's Booker's program, each bottle a personal tribute to the legacy of Booker Noe, the Master Distiller who invented cask-strength commercial bourbon in 1988.
Booker's Bourbon was created by Booker Noe — Jim Beam's Master Distiller from 1965 to 1992 and the grandson of Jim Beam himself — as the first commercially released cask-strength, unfiltered, uncut American bourbon. Noe developed it for his personal use and private gifts before colleagues convinced him to release it commercially. It set the template for every barrel-strength bourbon that followed, including George T. Stagg, William Larue Weller, and the entire category now known as cask-strength bourbon.
Each Booker's named batch is a specific barrel selection at its natural proof, ages typically ranging 6–8 years and proofs ranging 121–131. The name "Off Your Rocker" reflects the Noe family's tradition of giving each batch a personal, often playful name connected to Kentucky life and Noe family heritage. Each named batch is a distinct, unrepeatable expression — a different barrel selection, different natural proof, and different character from any other batch in the series.
