Ben Holladay Bottled-in-Bond 6 Year Old Straight Bourbon

750 mL | 100 Proof (50% ABV) | Bottled-in-Bond Straight Bourbon | Holladay Distillery, Weston, Missouri | Aged 6 Years

Process & Profile

Ben Holladay Bottled-in-Bond 6 Year Bourbon is a genuine Missouri-made whiskey, produced entirely at the historic Holladay Distillery—established in 1856 and still operating on its original site. Crafted using a traditional two-grain cooker system and Ben Holladay’s original 1856 mash bill, the spirit is distilled, aged, and bottled in accordance with strict Bottled-in-Bond standards. It matures for six years in level 3 charred Missouri white oak barrels and is non-chill filtered to preserve character.

Each batch is blended from barrels aged on different floors of the distillery’s two seven-story rickhouses, with flavor variation driven by the natural temperature gradients inside. The blending ratios differ from batch to batch, with each label featuring a blending chart that showcases the bourbon’s floor and barrel composition.

Tasting Notes

  • Nose: Toasted oak, caramel, honey, and light baking spice with a touch of dried apple.

  • Palate: Bold yet smooth, with flavors of vanilla bean, cinnamon, leather, and stone fruit carried by a structured oak backbone.

  • Finish: Long and warming with charred wood, nutmeg, and lingering brown sugar sweetness.

What Makes It Special

  • Designated Real Missouri Bourbon under a 2019 state law requiring local production, oak, and corn

  • Bottled-in-Bond: distilled, aged, and bottled at the same distillery at exactly 100 proof

  • Mash bill and production methods trace back to 1856, honoring historical authenticity

  • Aged in Missouri-made oak barrels from state-grown timber

  • Each batch blended by the master distiller from various rickhouse floors, with labels featuring batch-specific blending charts

How to Enjoy

Sip neat in a Glencairn to explore the layered character, or add a splash of water to unlock more of its spice and oak complexity. It also holds up beautifully in spirit-forward classics like an Old Fashioned or a Boulevardier.
