This comes from a bit of a rarity in the highly fragmented plot driven world of Burgundy, a single vineyard almost monopole Pinot Noir for less than $60. The nose opens with aromas of black cherry, licorice, earth, minerality and mixed spices. On the palate this is moderate in weight with good acid and a flavor set that mixes black fruits with balanced savory notes. From the hot 2020 vintage, this is starting to show the savory character of Burgundy that comes through with age. This will be great with Sunday roast chicken or a tuna steak. - MK D&M Tasting Notes June 2026

Château de Chassagne-Montrachet dates back to the late Middle Ages and before the french Revolution belonged to the last Lord of Chassagne, Sieur Clermont Montoison. During the French Revolution, the Château and its estate were seized and sold off separately. Since then, the Domaine du Château de Chassagne-Montrachet has belonged to several owners. In 1919, Charles MIMEUR took the unique opportunity to acquire most of the vineyards of Domaine du Château de Chassagne-Montrachet. Today, the family owns and manages 98% of the vines of Domaine du Château de Chassagne-Montrachet, which form the heart of the Bader-Mimeur estate. These vines represent 5 hectares planted around the winery on a clay-limestone terroir. This large single plot, which is very rare in the Côte de Beaune, is the pride of the estate. Only around 40% of the vines in the Chateau are Pinot Noir, some of which are up to 80 years old.
