Ayiti Bitters Co. Zoranj Anme is a Haitian bitter orange liqueur from Ayiti Bitters Co. (“anme” = bitter, “zoranj” = orange in Creole). Built on a base of local Haitian rum sweetened with raw sugarcane syrup, then infused with selected Haitian bitter orange peels (Citrus aurantium amara). The bright, bitter, spicy character produces an orange liqueur with greater depth and complexity than commercial triple sec or curacao.
Citrus aurantium amara is believed to have been brought to Hispaniola in 1492 and has thrived on the island since. Haiti supplies some of the best-known global orange liqueur brands with their oranges — Ayiti Bitters captures that quality at the source, controlling production end-to-end on the island. The unique sugarcane sweetener (raw syrup concentrate from cane juice condensed on fire from spent dried cane post-pressing) adds further regional terroir.
