Zuazo Gastón’s a BIG name in Spain’s marquee region of Rioja, with a cascade of top international accolades to their name.
Their Vendimia Seleccionada (vintage selection) is a complex, gently barrel-aged blend of Rioja’s star grape Tempranillo and Mazuelo—these two are often partnered up in Rioja, with the former delivering red cherry/strawberry vibrance and the latter adding firm but velvety tannins.
A 92-point gold medalist at the 2021 Sommelier Challenge, Flor de Sara is smooth, mellow, and lovely to sip on its own, but it’ll also shine with roasts (lamb, beef, pork) or firm cheeses.
