2020 Casa De La Luna Reserva de Selección Cabernet Sauvignon

House of the Moon—a lovely name for an equally lovely wine. This juicy Cab hails from Chile’s renowned Central Valley, one of the largest wine-making regions in the country which stretches from the Maipo Valley near Santiago to the Maule Valley. Winemaker Gonzalo Pérez Abarzúa (whose family have been in the winemaking game for five generations) chose only the finest Cabernet Sauvignon grapes for this Reserva de Selección, which offers up a complex nose of spice, red currant, and earthy tobacco leaf. The palate unfolds with bell pepper-flecked ripe plums, cherry, hints of charcoal, and nicely toasted spices, then finished with a subtle, sweet-candy flavor. A wonderful match for flame-grilled cowboy steaks or a meaty bowl of pasta bolognese.
