Our 2019 Pájaro de Buen Agüero Old Vines Tempranillo comes from the Cariñena region in Spain. Pájaro de Buen Agüero means Bird of Good Omen. The owl overlooks the vineyard to make sure no harm will come to it by flying over the Sierra de la Virgen mountains. The vineyards located in the center of Aragón and nested on hilltops between 500 and 700m above sea level lay 45-year old vines growing on stony soils. The vineyards benefit from a continental climate ranging from cold winters to scorching summers, embodying ideal conditions for Tempranillo grapes to ripen. Made with 100% Tempranillo grapes, this wine has medium depth with a violet color. Fragrant aromas of cherries and blackberries. Medium body with a mild sensation of wild strawberries and candied red fruit. Great companion to roast chicken or sausage on the grill.
